Media Release – North Coast Skills Audit – 06/05/2019
The future of business will require a workforce that has the ability to use technology effectively, to innovate, and to respond to customer needs.
Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) and Regional Development Australia Northern Rivers (RDANR) have being reaching out to North Coast businesses and industry to help identify what types of skill shortages that exist across the North Coast region.
Businesses based within the North Coast region are encouraged to take the short Skills Audit Survey (click here), this will help identify any shortages and assist in the development effective, locally based policies and programs.
The audit is currently open and will run until May 31st, as an incentive, registered businesses that fill out the survey will go into a draw for an IPAD.
The North Coast Skills Audit follows on from the successful 2017 skills audit conducted by RDAMNC.
Results from the 2017 audit showed that 50% of respondents indicated skill levels were currently unfulfilled across all sectors on the Mid North Coast region.
An important recommendation from the 2017 audit was the need for collaboration with education and training providers, to address the future education and training needs of each industry sector
RDAMNC Director Kerry Grace said, “RDAMNC conducted the skills audit in 2017 and the results have been very useful for training companies, all levels of government and our own planning processes. We look forward to partnering with RDA Northern Rivers to deliver this year’s skills audit and get a better picture of skills across the region”
The partnership between RDAMNC and RDANR will provide the necessary data to support efforts to provide greater opportunities to address skills shortages across the North Coast region.
