New Destination Video Launched
The new ‘Naturally Connected’ campaign launched this week with a screening of the TV commercial at the Jetty Memorial Theatre for members of the tourism industry.
Fiona Barden, Council’s Section Leader, Industry & Destination Development said, “In this campaign, we’ve built on the previous ‘Create Your Paradise’ messaging, with the story evolving to show a sophisticated view of our growing regional city, one that has connection at its heart. It showcases the ability of the destination to connect with carefree childhood memories – a nostalgic theme to evoke
a sense of wonder and discovery of today’s Coffs Coast, its natural beauty and its relaxed, chic lifestyle.” Read about the launch here…
The video is now available to download and share. Make sure to use the hashtags if sharing on social media to help spread the word. #coffscoast #naturallyconnected #createyourparadise
Future Food for Coffs Coast
At the end of last month,Coffs Harbour was announced as one of six locations nationally to benefit from being part of the Future Food Systems Cooperative Research Centre (CRC).
Council’s City Prosperity group and the Coffs Harbour Regional Airport have worked together, linking with industry, to provide support for the CRC project.
This is an exciting development for our local agrifood industry, with other CRC industry partners including large and small firms
across farming, distribution, food manufacturing, technology services and marketing.
The CRC brings wide-ranging benefits including new science and technology related jobs and education pathways, improved community health outcomes through nutritious fresh food, training of a new generation of food producers and more food-based regional tourism.

Start Building and Testing that New Idea
Human Centred Design is a way of working in which the customers views and usage patterns of the service or product are taken into account when improving or building a new offering to them. It combines ethnographic research techniques and quick small trials (or prototypes) to test and learn on what works for both your customers and your business before you build.
This FREE workshop presented by Transport NSW and 6 degrees, teaches entrepreneurs and government staff how to start using human centred design / design
thinking techniques to better understand your customers and design better solutions for your community. The workshop will cover: Understanding the basics of Human Centred Design; Conducting great customer interviews; Building prototypes; and Customer Testing.
WHEN: Wednesday 8 May, 10.30am to 1.30pm (light lunch provided)
WHERE: Innovation Hub, Coffs Harbour Education Campus, Hogbin Drive, Coffs Harbour
Stage 1 (of 2) of the ‘Building an EPIC Stadium for the Future’ project – the upgrade of C.ex Coffs International Stadium – has officially opened and the new-look Stadium has already hosted the National Touch League and the Oztag Senior State Cup 2019.
The new buildings have been designed to provide state-of-the-art Sport Spaces including change rooms, coaching and media boxes. There are also several flexible event spaces suitable for meetings, workshops and training sessions. If you are looking for a venue with
plenty of onsite parking and catering available then the Stadium may be a great option to consider. Read more about the Sport and Event Spaces here and contact firstname.lastname@example.org for enquiries.
Also included as part of Stage 1 upgrades was The Hub, a home for local sporting organisations: AFL North Coast, Cricket NSW, and North Coast Football. The new Hub Café has also opened, operated by Jonothan Oates from Zest in Sawtell. Drop in for a
coffee during events or on weekday mornings.

Council recognises the many benefits of supporting a vibrant and sustainable central business district. A Practical Solution for Youth Employment
Coffs Coast businesses are encouraged to register as employers via the new Youth Pathways portal developed by Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast at www.youthpathways.com.au
This local initiative has been developed to mutually assist employers and young job seekers – as a practical
effort towards reducing youth unemployment in the Mid North Coast Region (age range is 15 to 24). Access for employers is free, and you are able to create your own dashboard, post jobs and view applications in the one place.
RDA Mid North Coast Pathways Officer Steve Montgomery is available to meet with employers to walk you through the portal and explain how it works – which takes around 20 minutes (appointments via email@example.com or phone Steve directly on 0413 996 801).
