Disability Awareness Training in a Customer Service Environment A face to face workshop of 3 hours duration. The workshop includes group and experiential learning activities. Maximum of 20 participants per session.
Course Outline – High level • Accessible Tourism – The Demography • Types of Disabilities – Visible Vs Invisible • Language – Are you saying the right thing? • Behavior – What to do and when. • Etiquette – The key to the best service. • Legislation – Know your responsibilities.
Course Outcomes • Provides an insight into the people who make up the accessible tourism market • Allows the staff member to feel confident and comfortable when interacting with people with disabilities • Enables staff to provide a high level of service to people with disabilities • Creates a higher level of customer satisfaction • Reduces the risk of complaints being lodged under the Disability Discrimination Act • Helps to promote the business as a good corporate citizen.
