The Great Backyard Bird Count 

February 17-20, 2017This February thousands of people worldwide will join a four-day count of our planet’s wild bird population.

It’s a powerful opportunity to appreciate, and protect the diversity of our bird life! And it’s simple -just count birds for at least 15 minutes on one or more days during the campaign!!

Remember to register first so your results can contribute to the living database.

Take a walk on the Wild Side

This is a unique opportunity to walk through a natural forest and landscaped gardens to discover the nocturnal inhabitants of our local area. Saltwater Freshwater Festival

January 26 2017, 10am-5pm

The annual celebration of Aboriginal Arts and Culture is back in 2017 with an amazing line up of local and national legends. Held at the beautiful Coffs Regional Botanical Gardens. For program information visit the website.

The Sustainability Roadshow

2016 Highlights

The inaugural Sustainability Roadshow was a month long travelling festival of ideas and events.  Cooking demonstrations and hands on sustainable living workshops were delivered across the  Coffs Harbour, Bellingen & Nambucca regions to more than a thousand people. Workshops covered a range of topics including: de-cluttering, fermentation, organic gardening and off grid living.Thank you to all presenters, organisers, volunteers and participants.

The Living Lightly Community Fair

2016 HighlightsThe 2016 Living Lightly Community Fair was a 100% off-grid and low waste event. Solar electricity was generated for the main stage & workshop spaces  and just 480L of recyclable content (2x wheelie bins) and 360L of non-recyclable waste (1.5 x wheelie bins). The grassroots retake of the popular Living Coast Festival was hosted by the Coffs Community Garden.

Thank you to the Gardens Committee, volunteers, performers and stall holders.
